Fjell comes from a similar fund manager position for Skagen Vekst, and has previously managed Nordic funds based on a mandate from Delphi/Storebrand, achieving strong results.
Increased interest in the Nordic countries
“We are seeing an increased interest in Nordic shares. For instance, a growing number of major fund investors in Central Europe are now setting their sights on the Nordic securities market. Several Norwegian investors are also looking to invest in the Nordic region,” says acting head of DNB Asset Management, Ola Melgård.
Melgård further explains that the interest can be ascribed to, among other things, the fact that Nordic shares over time have given significantly higher returns than most other regions.
“DNB Asset Management plans to become a much larger player in the Nordic market. Strengthening the team with a very experienced and highly respected fund manager such as Fjell, is one of the initiatives to achieve this. We now have a strong team with an excellent track record. We know that this is something investors place great emphasis on when selecting funds,” concludes Melgård.
